THE CONCEPT OF PORTFOLIO

As you have been informed on how APDI seeks to carry out its objectives, vision and mission; which is through project works, seminars, article writing and publication, charitable ventures etc. It holds that the members of the association must not only be properly organized but there is a need for a well structure system that will inspire or motivate the members to carry out the objectives of the Association.

We believe that when an association is formed, its greatest challenge is not financial issue but its Organisational system. This inform the creation of the Portfolio within APDI.

The Porfolio is different from the organisational structure which revolves around the bureau, the council of Administration and the general assembly. The purpose of Portfolio, which is otherwise known as l’environement matericiel in French, is for the management of the activities and projects of the Association.

Portfolio in this context means departments or sections created in an organisation which reflects the professional or educational backgrounds or technical skills of its members. The creation of a portfolio in an association enforces the structural functions of the association. In that based on the general functional activities of the association, members are grouped into departments which reflects their technical skills, area of expertise and competence.

management for forward decision making by the Council of Administration.
Where on the other hand the carrying of an activity of association involves two department working together, the chef de projet ensure the collaboration of members of his/her department or groups with the other members of the different group.
In all cases, chef de projet is the person responsible for ensuring the success of tasks assigned to his/her department. As a result, the chef de projet is considered as a leader and therefore has the task to orient the works of the members, the direction of the group and the activities of his department. As a leader, he has practically authority over the members of his department.
