Our History

Agence panafricaine pour le développement et l’intégration (APDI)

is a private association formed in November 2021 under the initiative of

Lord Fiifi Sampson, Léonce Akoutey, and Samuel Addo.

They were later joined by Precious Aseye Klu and Alex Dela Dwomoh.

APDI was formed with the primary vision of bringing in together various African  nationals from different educational orientations to contribute towards the development of the continent through Pan-Africanism and regional integration.

To make the association not sound or to be perceived as an only Ghanaian association because of its current headquarter, a French name was coined and given to it by Léonce Akoutey, a Béninois and Ghanaian resident.  In addition, the constitution, organisation and structure were legally modeled on both the Ghanaian company law and that of the civil law so as to incorporate members from the different legal systems and socio-political practices in Africa.

The internal organisation system based on the French model of association such as the bureau éxecutif, conseil d’administration and assemblée générale was adopted as part of the constitution of the association. APDI was later incorporated under the Ghanaian Company Act, 2019 (Act 992) with its current seat at Accra on the 23rd day of February 2022.
